Medicare Rebate
A mental health treatment plan lets you claim an $89.60 rebate for up to ten 50-minute sessions. To start with, your doctor or psychiatrist must refer you for up to six sessions at a time. If you need more, they can refer you for further sessions. Health professionals set their own fees, so Medicare can only cover some of the costs.

Ultivate Community Rebate
Individuals experiencing financial difficulties can apply for Ultivate rebates. You can receive a discount of up to $40.05 for up to ten 50-minute sessions. These rebates are limited and become available at various times of the year. If one is unavailable at your request, please ask to be placed on the waitlist for the next availability.

Medicare Group Rebate
You can claim this group discount in addition to rebates accessible under the mental health treatment plan ($32.50 rebate for up to ten 50-minute group sessions each calendar year). Health professionals set their fees, so Medicare can only cover some costs.
Private Health
Rebates
You may be eligible for a Medicare Rebate if your symptoms have begun to impair your personal, social, or work functioning. Before attending your first appointment, consult your doctor to find out if you are eligible.
If you have private health extras covered, you may be eligible to claim health insurance rebates for psychological sessions. Contact your private health insurance to find out what level of funding you are entitled to.

These "community psychological health rebates" exist for:
